Darius Brown is an award-winning professional genealogist, author, and archival researcher specializing in African American family history, genetic genealogy, and the complex historical reconstruction of the South Carolina Lowcountry.
With a profound dedication to unearthing obscured histories, Darius utilizes a rigorous, primary-source methodology to break through the 1870 brick wall. He expertly navigates 18th- and 19th-century plantation ledgers, Freedmen's Bureau files, loose probate records, and complex property deeds to successfully reconnect descendants with their enslaved ancestors.

He holds a Certification in DNA and Genetic Genealogy from the International Institute of Genealogical Studies, allowing him to seamlessly integrate commercial DNA testing, endogamous population clustering, and cM segment analysis with traditional paper-trail research. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Organizational Management and Development from the College of Charleston and an Associate of Arts and Sciences in Business Administration.
